PROPOSED ACTIVITIES:

Establishment of active a alumni network

The first and foremost objective of the centre is to establish all forms of network among alumni living in various parts of the world. A detailed database on all alumni would be developed and will be available for digital access from remote locations. The centre will identify and recognise all existing alumni associations and integrate them for more effective operation.

Establishment of Virtual Interaction Centre

In order to facilitate alumni to interact with faculty members and students of this University and to interact with established alumni in their discipline, a virtual centre will be established. This centre will have all digital communication facilities such as teleconferencing, online chats and digital library.

Continuous professional development avenues

In order to facilitate the alumni to keep them update their knowledge and upgrade their qualification, all forms of continuous professional development activities will be initiated by the centre. This include need based training and retraining programmes, credit based flexible learning paths through Web and Internet, seminars, working- group meeting and workshops. The centre will formulate frameworks and models for such programmes and introducing special schemes for alumni from time to time.

Availing services of the alumni for academic activities

The centre, in coordination with various deportment/divisions/centers/institutions of the University, will work towards availing the services of the alumni in all academic activities of the University, These include, recognizing eligible alumni as research supervisors, member of board of studies and part-time and visiting faculties.

Development of University Infrastructure

The centre will examine the needs of the University together with the interests of various alumni groups and will work towards the development of the University with clear long term visions. The developmental activity would be from raising buildings and improving infrastructure to instructional materials.

Interaction among Alumni and Student

The centre will identify and formulate career based alumni groups and facilitate their interaction with the students through various means. The objective of this to facilitate students to get much needed industrial exposure in the form of training and placement. This will also enable alumni to identify and recruit suitable human resource for their industrial needs.

Recognition of achievement of alumni

The centre will identify the unique achievements of the alumni and their rare distinctions at regular intervals. The centre will institute various awards and the recipients would be honoured annually so that the students are motivated to excel in their chosen field.

Institution of endowment, Research Fellowships and Grants

The centre will institute various schemes of research awards especially for alumni to carry out their higher studies and research through establishment of alumni endowment. The centre will also establish various schemes for the wards of alumni such as fee concession and grant for training programmes.
