The Grid Computing Laboratory at Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University headed by Dr.S.ThamaraiSelvi, Professor & Head, Dept. of Computer Technology. The recent project titled "CARE - Centre for Advanced Computing Research and Education " aims at establishing a research centre to produce human resources in the area of Grid Computing and recent trends. At CARE, we undertake R & D efforts to address diverse issues in the field of Grid Computing such as Grid Virtualization, Knowledge grid, Grid Scheduling, Grid resource monitoring, and Trusted Grid Computing. We also investigate the research issues in implementing cloud computing across grid infrastructure. The centre aims to develop human resources in HPC by offering workshops, tutorials and hands on training in various technologies related to Grid and Cluster computing.
We use Globus Toolkit 4.0 for building Grid Infrastructure in our lab. Gridsphere framework is used to develop front end for all our software modules. Our team members are experts in working with GridFTP, GSI, MDS, RFTP, Clustering technology. Also, we concentrate on Triana workflow and we also have done significant research work in these areas. The main motivation behind our research work is to add values to the existing grid architecture by contributing some more features to it. We mainly concentrate on semantic discovery of grid resources and services, Trust Component, Security Components etc.
