with natural, manmade and biological disasters with a view to advancing
the state-of-the-art through front line research and development on one
hand, and by delivering cost and speed effective solutions to practical
problems, on the other hand.
Promote
educational and skill development programmes at all levels and thus
contribute towards the national effort in Education and Human
Resource Development, especially training of trainers on all aspects
of disaster mitigation and management.
Serve
as a national clearing house of information on all kinds of disaster
through the instrument of National Disaster Knowledge Network and its
connectivity with international networks
Build
synergistic alliances and partnerships at the National and International
levels and undertake multidimensional, multi-agency projects of local,
regional, national, and global importance and challenge.
Advice
Governments, Public Sector, Private Sector and Community Based Organizations,
on diverse aspects of disaster mitigation and management.
