About the Division

The Division of Embedded System Design was started in the year 2002 as a self supporting programme, offers currently Post-Graduate course in M.E – Embedded System Technology. This course being offered as both Full-Time as well as Part-Time programme, to encourage fresh and practicing engineers to enhance their professional skill in this field.

Vision

Setting Research facilities with lab infrastructure and Manpower Development to create exposure and proficiency in Embedded system technology by providing training in all domains of embedded system.

About the Curriculum

The curriculum was designed by experts from researchers, industrialists and academicians, to meet the today’s demands of the Industry as well as Research Groups. The syllabus is focusing on various areas like Real Time Systems, RTOS, Wireless and Embedded Networking, etc.,

Infrastructural Facility

The Embedded System Division has invested over Rs.30 Lakhs to develop a fully equipped laboratory to meet the requirement of Research & Development in this area. The lab is equipped with Target board supported software packages, embedded processor development modules with multiple user license and manuals. The available software packages includes Xilinx, RTOS, SIMON, C Compiler, etc., Also facilities are available to realize hardware using FPGA’s.

About the Students, Placement and Industrial Visits

At present more than 80 full-time students and 60 part-time students graduated and placed in reputed companies and R& D organizations. The companies and organizations includes Wipro, Tata Elaxi, L&T, Honeywell, HP, HCL, TCS, IBM, CTS, ISRO, etc., The students has undergone industrial visits to Wipro, Visteon, ISRO etc., to gain industrial knowledge.

Research

The department is engaged with research activities in various domains of embedded systems. The division now has 3 Full-Time Research Scholars and 5 Part-Time Research Scholars. The research areas includes Grid Computing, Wireless Sensor Network, Energy Consumption in Low - power Electronics and also in interdisciplinary areas wherever embedded system is needed.
