ABOUT US
The course is of 4 years duration. The degree course is multi-disciplinary in its approach. The main subject areas are Materials Science, Technology of Printing and Packaging, Science and Mathematics, Business and Management Studies. The Printing Technology course is supported by members of staff from Department of Science and Humanities, different Engineering disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer and Management Studies of the College with guest faculty from industry . Twenty students are admitted every year for the course out of which 5 seats are sponsored candidates from the industry.The Consortium of Printing Industrialists advise and help the department in improving the quality of training offered to the students.

BRITISH TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
Under the Overseas Development Administration, the department has received British technical Assistance. Under this scheme ,faculty members of the Printing Department have been provided training & study in United Kingdom. British experts have visited the department and printing equipments and books have been gifted to the department.

CAREER PROSPECTS
Categories of personal for which Degree holders in Printing Technology may be recruited for employment,are given below. With some initial orientation training to suit the specific needs of the employer,the Degree holders will be able to fulfil the employer's requirements.

      1. Supervisory personal at the middle-management level for shop floor supervision of large presses with traditional equipments diversifying into new technology.

      2. Works Managers and production executives for the modernized commercial presses,newspaper presses, Government presses,publishers and specialist printers.

      3. Engineers for printing machinery manufacturer and printing materials manufacturer,both in the design office and factory shop-floor.

      4. Maintenance engineers for implant maintenance in large printing establishments.

      5. Sales/maintenance engineers for printing machinery manufacturers, and sales/marketing executives for mordernised printing presses.

      6. Senior faculty positions in diploma-level printing institutes and faculty positions in colleges offering degree courses in Printing Technology.

      7. Production executives/managers in advertising agencies.

      8. Personal for research and development in printing,packaging and allied fields.

Interested students can pursue post-graduate studies in India and abroad. The annual growth rate and the demand for degree holders for the next two decades is very promising.

Campus interviews for recruiting the students by industries are generally held between August and April every academic year.
