Students undergo training in General Machine Shop, Special Machine Shop and Mechatronics Laboratories. The CAM laboratory is well equipped with retro-fitted CNC Lathe, CNC Vertical Milling Machine, CNC Turning Centre, 5-axis CNC Machining Centre, TIG-Welding Machine, Computerized 50 KN Universal Testing Machine, CNC EDM, Six Component Piezoelectric Cutting Tool Dynamometer (Kistler) and Precision Hydraulic Surface Grinder. The CAM laboratory also provides advanced software packages like CAPSMILL, CAPSTURN, FANUC Simulator for Milling and Turning for the students to work on. Mechatronics laboratory is equipped with equipments like basic and advanced Pneumatic and Hydraulic Training Kits, Electro-pneumatic with PLC, Machine vision system, Co-ordinate Measuring Machine, LSM Controller Package, Surface Roughness Measuring Equipment and AutomationStudio software. Computer Applications Laboratory provides students with facilities to work on advanced software packages like ANSYS, Unigraphics, MATLAB, LINDO and TORA. The General Machine Shop with its conventional machines provides ample facilities to the students to acquaint themselves with the various machining processes. The metal forming laboratory, housed in the machine shop, has 60T hydraulic press with load measuring devices, 80T press break and other related testing equipments. The Special Machine Shop has a Jig Boring Machine, Gear Hobber, Gear Shaper, Broaching Machine, Grinding Machine, Milling machine, Surface Grinder and heavy duty Lathes.
