The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is currently the hottest destination for the cream of the state with highly qualified faculty and the state of the art laboratories. The department aims at creating quality engineers with sound technical knowledge and awareness of the latest advancements in existing and emerging technologies.

The history of the department dates back to 1930 when it was started as Telecommunication division in the department of Electrical Engineering. The department has the distinction of being the first institution in India to start Under Graduate programme in Telecommunication Engineering in the year 1945. The first Post Graduate in Communication System was introduced in 1963 and subsequently PG programmes in Applied Electronics, Medical Electronics, VLSI Design, Bio-Medical Engineering were introduced.

The department of ECE has always enjoyed a respectable status among the major recruiters in India and the excellent performance of its students across the industry has enabled the department to maintain it’s strong and brand image. The extremely well qualified and highly knowledgeable faculty adds the value to the department and its students.

The department of ECE also continuously engaged in the relentless endeavor to improve upon our past performance and to uplift the position in the league of engineering institutions.

Brief Write up of Most Successful Research Projects:

Medical Image processing
Development of Image processing algorithms for medical modalities such as CT scan, MRI images segmentation and classification of tumors in brain images are developed.
