Abstract:

In the present invention, the indigenously prepared low cost SPSEBS membrane is used for the fabrication of MEA (membrane electrode assembly) and the individual cells are serially connected and the stack is allowed to operate using (i) Oxygen as the cathode fuel; (ii) compressed air as the cathode fuel; (iii) self-breathed air as the cathode supply. In all these three methods, the performance of the stack varies according to the nature of the cathode fuel.
