A Glimpse of the Indian E&IT Patents Vol. II
A Glimpse of the Indian E&IT Patents 2004 - 2005 Vol. II is being prepared by Centre for Intellectual property Rights, Anna University, Chennai, Chennai - 600 025. It has compiled relevant Indian Electronics and IT Patents granted and have categorized them in important Sub-Areas for which Research Commentaries have answered the aforesaid queries and hereby give details of these Patent Abstracts.
The Centre has delivered two Books
(i) TAPS REPORT
"Technology Alert Based Patent Systems (TAPS)", to develop tools and databases, so as to assist technology assessment, development, acquistion and investment decisions and to respond to IPR needs of the merging digital era.
Technology Alert Patent System (TAPS) relies on recently developed technologies in the field of Electronics and Information technology sector.
The initiative is focused on the creation of a patent quality index that would serve as a tool for searching newer technologies in the field of E&IT.
The enterprise of today is a complex set of computing units linked by different networks that connect to external networks such as the Internet through gateways that perform the role of gatekeepers and guardians. Securing this computing infrastructure while ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate policies is becoming increasingly challenging.
In order to receive technology alerts to the Industries, Researchers and Government Sectors, TAPS had been submitted under the following categories.
- Wireless LAN Security and Mobile communication
- Automation System, Wireless and telecom systems
- Computer System and Peripherals
- Telecommunication Systems
- Computer Networks and Control Systems
An open patent review program would set up a system on our Web site where visitors could submit search criteria and subscribe to electronic alerts about patent applications in specific areas.
(ii) MATRIX ON USPTO MAJOR CLASS REPORT
Centre for providing Electronics and Information Technology Patent visualization and Alert Services provides an analysis report based on comparison between published and granted patents under major class categories. Major Class Categories includes Air transportation(sub division of Air transportation is Aircraft Logistics) ,Back office management (sub division of back office management is back office support), Banking, Business, Business management, cad/cam, Call center, Communication, Computer hardware, customer services, Data management, Database management, E-commerce, Engineering, ERP, GPS, Information management, Insurance, IT enabled services, Mainframe development , Multimedia, Networking, Quality and solutions associated with their sub divisions under each category. Matrix on USPTO major class gives details about total patents granted and published under each category. As well as it provides information regarding prime class and associated sub class definition under each category. |
