ACTIVITIES  

NSS CELL, Anna University, Chennai has celebrated the NSS Day on 24.09.2012 at Vivekananda Auditorium, CEG Campus, Anna University, Chennai.  In that, Dr. M.Sekar, Dean, CEG Campus, Dr. S.Sivanesan, Dean, A.C.College of Technology, Dr.S.Selladurai, NSS Programme Co-ordinator, Dr. B.Kumar, YRC Co-ordinator participated in this programme.  More than 500 NSS Volunteers were participated from the various institutions.  Various culturals activities were conducted and distributed the prizes to the NSS volunteers.
	NSS UNIT-10 CEG, Anna University conducted an eye donation awareness programme in collaboration with Shankara Netralaya Eye Hospital on the eve of National Eye Donation fortnight (25th  August -8th September) at the Alumni Centre Hall of CEG on 6th of September 2012 from 4.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. The function was presided over by Dr. G. R. Rajarajeswari, Programme Officer, NSS UNIT-10, CEG. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr. M. Sekar, Dean, CEG and the Special Invitee was Ms. V. Chaitanya Lakshmi (CEG Alumna & Founder of Siruthuligal), M.D., Sai Baba Business Solutions. The function was attended by Dr. S. Selladurai, NSS Cell Co-ordinator, Anna University, Dr. B. Kumar, YRC Co-ordinator, Anna University and programme officers of other NSS units of CEG. The programme focused on creating awareness among the students about the vitality of eye donation. Mr. S.V.G. Subramaniam, Deputy Manager, Shankara Nethralaya Eye Bank conducted the Eye Donation awareness session through presentation and video screening, and answered the questions from the audience. This interactive awareness programme was attended by more than 220 students from various branches of Engineering and Technology of CEG. At the end of the session, “Eye donation pledge forms” were distributed to the audience and they were asked to submit the same during the next week.
NSS CELL, YRC and Yuva Shakthi jointly organized “Personality and Character Development Programme” on 15.08.2012 at Vivekananda Auditorium, Anna University Chennai. Dr. S.Shanmugavel, Registrar, Anna University, Chennai and Dr.M.Sekar, Dean, CEG were participated. Dr.S.Selladurai, NSS Coordinator and Dr.B.Kumar, YRC Coordinator organized this programme and celebrated the “Independence day”
Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education, Govt. of Tamilnadu Thiru.P.Palaniappan visited the Anna University NSS Special Camp activities and appreciated the students and officers involved in the camp on 28.06.2012
College of Engineering, Guindy (Unit-10) has conducted awareness programme on Plastics usage, Aids, cancer, rainwater harvesting and right to vote.  Conducted free eye camp in which 100 members were participated.  Conducted tree plantation-60 saplings were planted. Also organized the laptop training and hardware training programme for school students.  Conducted free veterinary camp in which 100 domestic animals were benefited.  Conducted drawing competition to school students and distributed the prizes during the special camp from 20.06.2012 to 27.06.2012.
College of Engineering, Guindy (Unit-11) conducted awareness Programme on Cleanliness, food & nutrition and a demo on 108 ambulances and conducted health programmes. Conducted the Science exhibition for the school students.  Totally 40 experiments were exhibited.  Taken survey on their living style.  Conducted former meet for increasing their yield and to improve their standard of living.  Conducted veterinary camp, medical camp.  Totally 100 villagers got benefited in both.  Conducted tree plantation-20 saplings were planted.  Donated 250 books to the school library during the special camp from 22nd to 28th of June 2012.
A.C.College of Technology, Guindy has conducted a meeting about the distribution of free mixi, grinder and table fan to the village peoples from the government and helped to issue the token  to get those things.  Visited the industrial plant for bio fertilizers to create awareness to the farmers.  Create awareness on various diseases such as cancer, kidney stone formation and leprosy.  Health message awareness was conducted.  Tree plantation-around 100 saplings were planted.  Conducted cleaning work at school premises and library.  Given training on simple breath control exercise and yogasanas.  Notebook, pen and pencils were distributed to all students during the special camp from 21.06.2012 to 27.06.2012.
SSN College of Engineering was conducted Tree Plantation programme held on 12.10.2011, 50 Tree saplings were planted in the college campus. Thirumalai Engineering College was conducted Disaster Management Programme was conducted on 24.09.2011 with jointly organized Sri Sathya Sai Organization, Kanchipuram. 75 students were participated.
SSN College of Engineering was conducted Blood Donation Camp in association with Govt. General Hospital, Chennai on 11.08.2011.Morethan 210 Units of Blood were Donated.	Thirumalai Engineering College was conducted Blood Donation Camp (Totally 105 Units Blood Donated) on 21.09.2011 with jointly organized Rotary Club, Kanchipuram Govt. Hospital.	Agni College of Engineering & Technology organized an Election awareness Programme on 09.04.2011.
Gojan School of Business and Technology conducted the awareness on food waste management on 05.04.2011.	Karpagavinayaga College of Engineering & Technology organized an Election awareness Programme on 07.04.2011.	Agni College of Engineering & Technology organized an Election awareness Programme on 09.04.2011.
