About Us
The Centre for Composite Materials, established within the prestigious CEG Campus of Anna University, is dedicated to serving the diverse needs of industries and institutions involved in processing, fabrication, testing, and characterization of composites across various domains. Our focus lies particularly on polymer composites, catering to transportation, civil and mechanical structures, energy, and health sectors. Aligned with Anna University's commitment to technological excellence, our centre aims to collaborate closely with industries to address their requirements in four key areas: Testing and Certification, Training and Education, Consultancy and Research and Development. We invite industries to leverage our expertise and resources and welcome any suggestions to further enhance our activities. By collaborating with us, you contribute to the advancement of the composite materials industry and contribute to the betterment of society at large. We extend our sincere invitation to your esteemed organization to support our endeavors and be a part of our journey towards excellence in composite materials research and innovation. Together, let's shape the future of composite materials technology.
The Centre for Composite Materials (CCM) at Anna University is a vibrant interdisciplinary hub fostering innovation in advanced composites, fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites, ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) and metal matrix composites (MMCs). Located at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, CCM bridges academia and industry through cutting-edge research, projects, consultancy, testing, training and student engagement. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. D. Sangeetha, CCM has collaborated with renowned industries such as Ashok Leyland, Bosch, L&T, and Carbon Loops. Noteworthy projects include thermal barrier coatings, drone package design, and membranes for biomass electrolyzers. The Centre emphasizes translational research and student mentorship, supporting UG internships, patent filing, product development, and industry-based problem solving. With a focus on eco-friendly, high-performance materials, CCM is committed to creating sustainable and impactful engineering solutions. Join CCM—where Composites meet Creativity, Collaboration, and Commercialization.
