Dr. G.KALPANA
2022Currently, Prof. G.Kalpana is heading the Department of Physics. Her academic journey includes M.Sc. and M.Phil. degrees from the University of Madras, followed by a Ph.D. degree from Anna University. Prof. Kalpana's specialization lies in the realm of condensed matter physics, and her impressive track record encompasses over 25 years of combined research and teaching expertise.
The faculty members within the Department of Physics actively engage in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs. Simultaneously, they are at the forefront of scientific projects, particularly in the domain of fundamental and applied physics of materials. Their commitment to cutting-edge research is manifested through the continuous pursuit of funding and grants from a diverse array of esteemed funding agencies. These include UGC, DST, CSIR, SERB, AICTE, BRNS, DAE, NSC, DRDO, the Government of Tamil Nadu, and others.
In addition to securing financial support, the faculty members have proactively forged networks and collaborations with renowned educational institutions, research establishments, and industries across India and abroad. This proactive outreach enriches the department's research environment and stimulates the exchange of ideas and expertise.
