About Store and Forward (S & F) Payload

The store and forward payload is designed to support 16 ground stations. Among 16 ground stations one station is given high privilege. The High privileged ground station (HPG) has been provided with additional capability for controlling the satellite and to broadcast messages to all the ground stations.
The S&F payload uses 435MHz in the uplink and 145.8MHz in the downlink. It operates in half duplex mode i.e., at any time either the satellite or the receiver can transmit or receive the data.
In S&F payload a ground station can request one of the three following types of service to the satellite
1. Send – Ground station has text message to transmit
2. Receive – Satellite has text message to transmit to a particular Ground station
3. Send and receive - Both satellite and client has message to transmit
