Dr.(Mrs) V. S. Gowri
M.Sc, M. Phil, Ph.D
Dr. Gowri has over 16 years experience in Coastal Pollution Studies
, Remote Sensing and GIS applications , biodiversity assessment and
Coastal Zone Management. She has a good knowledge in heavy metal
pollution, UV characterization of river and coastal waters, mass transport
of pollutants by rivers and clay mineralogy. She has been trained in
Coastal Zone Management in the University of New Castle Upon Tyne, UK
and in the management of coastal and marine resources in Centre for
Tropical Marine Ecology, Bremen, Germany. She is actively involving
in the characterization of "best-designated use" of coastal water using
spatial and non-spatial data (remote sensing and GIS with ORACLE 8i/VB)
and impacts of developmental activities on the biodiversity of coastal
areas using PRIMER package.
