Department of Manufacturing Engineering (DoME) has a versatile, dynamic and quality conscious faculty, with glorious, rapid and continuing saga of success and achievements.
DoME's strength is contributed by highly qualified faculty, brilliant students and state of the art infrastructure including classrooms, modern laboratories and library. DoME provides congeal environment for teaching, research and learning. It has produced outstanding alumni who are prominent leaders in top level organizations, educational institutions and industries. DoME is actively involved in research in the field of Metal Cutting, Traditional & Non-traditional Machining, Computer Aided Design (CAD) / Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) / Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) / ROBOTICS, Micromachining, Electronics Manufacturing, Rapid Prototyping, Composite Materials, Resource Scheduling and SCM. The department has actively involved in organizing and conducting many workshops, symposiums, national and international conferences. Manufacturing Systems (MANUSYS) A national level technical symposium is conducted every year. A biennial national level conference called Recent Trends in Manufacturing Technology (RTMT) is organized once in two years. Association of Manufacturing Engineers (AME) a student's association of DoME is actively involved in organizing guest lectures, personality development programs, intramural sports, etc.

HISTORY
Department of Manufacturing Engineering (DoME) earlier known as Production Engineering Division started in the year 1963 offered M.Sc., Engineering in Production Engineering. In 1978 during the formation of Anna University, B.E. Degree programme in Production Engineering was offered.
In the year 2002, the Department of Manufacturing Engineering was established and offers B.E., Manufacturing Engineering, M.E., Computer Integrated Manufacturing, M.S., by Research & Ph.D programme.
